Saphire is a spider monkey that spent the majority of her life as a beloved pet. Unfortunately, when her human caretakers had to move, she was unable to go along. After 36 years of living with people, Saphire seems happiest living in an enclosure by herself despite numerous attempts to introduce her to other spider monkeys. As one of the sanctuary's oldest monkeys, Saphire is usually a gentle soul and craves physical affection.
